Support Programs

As a patient of Westside, you have access to nutrition counseling. Our registered dietitians work closely with you to make healthy eating accessible and achievable. We provide personalized nutrition plans, education and support to help you reach your goals and build long-term healthy habits. Nutrition counseling is available to patients of all ages, in person or through telehealth.

Our certified diabetes educator provides education and support for patients living with diabetes. We help you manage your condition, set realistic self-management goals and learn the skills needed to stay healthy. Diabetes education is available in person and through telehealth.

Our healthcare coordinators can connect you with additional specialty services and community resources as needed. These services help you treat and manage your acute condition or chronic disease.

As a patient of Westside, you have access to a team of social services coordinators. The coordinators will help you access resources for food, housing, employment and additional social support programs.

Westside’s Cancer Screening Navigation Program helps patients navigate the cancer screening process from scheduling and testing to follow-up care. We support early cancer screening and detection as well as diagnosis of breast, ovarian and colorectal cancers.

Our Reach Out and Read Program connects healthcare and early childhood literacy. Providers use children’s books during well-child visits as a tool to measure developmental milestones and encourage parent engagement. Each child receives a free book to build their home library.

Reach Out and Read is part of a national organization supporting early literacy in healthcare settings.

Individuals can access care in the language that they are most comfortable with. We have staff members who speak many different languages. We also use a telephone-based language interpretation service and provide video access to American Sign Language interpreters.

Westside’s Home Visiting Community Health Worker Program supports maternal and child health before, during and after pregnancy. The program promotes healthy child growth and development while connecting families with key resources.

Available services include:

• Car Seat Safety Program: In partnership with the Nemours Trauma Program, this program helps families learn how to install car seats safely and offer families a new car seat.
• Cribs for Kids: Offers safe-sleep education and provides cribs to families in need.

Our breastfeeding peer counselors provide guidance and education for a positive breastfeeding experience.

Services include:

• Prenatal and postpartum consultations
• Breastfeeding technique support
• Breastfeeding supplies and help with breast-pump use
• Prenatal and parenting education classes

Breastfeeding classes (for pregnant women and families with children up to age 5) cover nutrition, prenatal/postpartum care, caring for your baby, emotional wellness and more. Classes are held the third Thursday of the month. English: 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.; Spanish: 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.
