Who We Are
Since 1988, Westside Family Healthcare has been a community-focused, nonpartisan health network in Delaware.
We have been a Federally Qualified Health Center since 1994 and are accredited by The Joint Commission as a Primary Care Medical Home. Additionally, Westside is the largest community health center in the state, with centers in New Castle and Kent counties—plus a mobile health unit that travels throughout Kent and Sussex counties. Over the years, we have cultivated a strong understanding of the unique healthcare needs in Delaware, and we aim to provide the highest-quality services to all patients, regardless of their ability to pay.
As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, we aim to serve all Delawareans, regardless of ability to pay. Westside receives operational funding through Section 330(e) and Section 330(g) of the U.S. Public Health Service Act. Additionally, we receive funding support from federal and state government agencies, plus a combination of local and national as well as public and private grant opportunities. What Is an FQHC?
A Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), also known as a Community Health Center, receives funding from the United States government to provide affordable healthcare to people who need it most. FQHCs serve every individual, even if they don’t have insurance or can’t pay the full cost of care.
FQHCs are located across the U.S., with more than 1,500 organizations in over 16,000 communities—including rural, urban and suburban areas. This ensures that healthcare is accessible to everyone, no matter where they live.
FQHCs offer:
Affordable care: Services are provided on a sliding scale based on income, ensuring everyone can access care.
High-quality care: FQHCs meet strict government standards to ensure patients get safe, effective care.
A wide range of services: This includes primary care, dental care, mental health services and more.
Westside Family Healthcare is proud to be an FQHC and to keep our community healthy—regardless of ability to pay.
