Captain Westside and the Health Heroes: Caring for Delaware’s Families!
Captain Westside and Westside’s Health Heroes team up to teach young people about staying healthy, being courageous and feeling more confident as they navigate the challenges of today’s world. Captain Westside’s character is inspired by our former president and CEO, Lolita Lopez, who led Westside’s growth over the last 33 years!
Our goal is to distribute 6,000 Captain Westside children’s books within the first year through our Reach Out and Read Program—which provides new books to our youngest patients during their routine checkups, supporting children in need in our communities.
Captain Westside is written and published by Mainstay Publishing in partnership with Westside Family Healthcare. This unique project is funded by the Health Resources and Services Administration by way of the American Rescue Plan Act.
